POLICY 7: RELEASES, PLAYER MOVEMENT AND PERMISSION TO TRY OUT
7.01 Releases:
A release from LLA will only be considered under the following conditions. The player must be registered with LLA and be a member in good standing. Releases will not be granted for reasons outside the following:
7.02 Player Movement:
Players must register in their age-appropriate division. Movement between divisions may be permitted if it meets the guidelines established by the Wheatland Lacrosse Association (WLA) and the Alberta Lacrosse Association (ALA) and is approved by LLA. To request movement, the Player Movement Form must be completed and submitted to the Division Director of the player’s age division (e.g., submit to the U13 Director if the player is U13 by age).
7.03 Permission to Try Out:
Players may request permission to try out for an ‘A’ team. Permission must be submitted to, and approved by, the LLA President. Once the player has been accepted onto an ‘A’ team (not offered by LLA) and has registered with LLA, they will receive a conditional one-season release to the receiving association.
A release will only be denied if the player's departure would cause LLA to fall below the ALA’s minimum roster number required to declare a team in that division, and only after all options to meet the minimum have been exhausted.
